The SoundCloud Release-Week Checklist
October 7, 2026 · 5 min read
A good release week doesn’t happen by accident. Use this checklist to give every track its best possible start.
Two weeks before
- Final master exported and checked on several speakers.
- Square artwork ready, readable as a thumbnail.
- Title, genre, tags, description and credits written.
- A 10–20 second clip of the best moment for socials.
- Feedback requested from a few trusted artists.
Upload day
- Upload at a time your listeners are active (check your past stats).
- Double-check the genre and tags before publishing.
- Add the track to your profile spotlight or pin it.
- Share the link with your existing listeners first.
Launch week
- Post the clip on short-video platforms with the link in your bio.
- Concentrate your promotion budget on this week. On CloudKillerz, Release Mode helps you focus your push around launch.
- Reply to every comment in the first few days.
- Thank artists who repost or support the track.
The week after
- Compare plays with likes, reposts and follows to see how the track really landed.
- Note which channels brought engaged listeners.
- Pitch blogs or curators with your early engagement as proof.
- Start planning the next release while momentum is high.
